From the forests of Finland
A ritual of warmth and renewal endures. Sauna bathing is a cherished Finnish tradition, simple, grounding, and deeply restorative. Guided by heat, stillness, and natural materials, it offers a quiet return to self through the timeless rhythm of warmth and release.
For centuries, the sauna has been more than a place to bathe — it has been a sanctuary for reflection, connection, and wellbeing. Rooted in nature and shaped by the elements, the experience invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and let the outside world fall away. The gentle rise of steam, the scent of timber, and the calming hush of heat create a space where body and mind can fully reset.
At Sauna Culture, we honour these traditions by embracing authenticity, craftsmanship, and natural design. Each sauna is an expression of this heritage — thoughtfully created to capture the spirit of Finnish sauna culture while offering a refined, modern retreat. It’s not just about heat; it’s about ritual, presence, and the luxury of taking time for yourself.

The Heart of Finnish Wellness
The Sauna. One of life’s greatest pleasures was invented by the Finns over 2000 years ago and remains entwined in Scandinavian and European culture. Originally designed for bathing, the sauna was a place to cleanse the body, and soothe the soul. Whilst the methods of heating a sauna have evolved over the centuries, sauna benefits remain the same.

Inspired by Generations of Finnish Wisdom
Traditional sauna is a centuries-old ritual created to cleanse the body and care for the mind. Both relaxing and invigorating, the healing properties of sauna steam are well documented. Physical wellbeing is enhanced by improved cardiovascular circulation and the softening of tension in muscles and joints. Saunas are also known to deeply cleanse the skin, to flush toxins, to burn calories, to improve the quality of sleep and to reduce stress.
Finnish Sauna Design
A typical Finnish sauna is a wooden room or a separate building with wooden benches inside placed on different levels. A high-quality sauna should have proper insulation. The room keeps the heat inside effectively and excess water doesn’t stay on the floor. One of the key elements is good ventilation. Even when heated, the air inside sauna should circulate so one can breath fresh air easily.

Warmth and comfort with intention
Temperature of a Finnish sauna is moderately high if compared to other saunas in the world. It alters between 70 to 100 Celsius degrees (158 – 212°F). Finnish sauna is heated up with an electric or a wood-burning stove with rocks piled on top. The main practice of the Finnish bathing is throwing water on the rocks to create steam (löyly in Finnish) and to add temporary soft heat. The typical humidity inside the sauna varies from 40% to 60%.

Restore, Rebalance & Connect
For some the sauna experience invites moments to bond, connect and socialise. For others it is a nurturing and intimate wellness pursuit. Whether shared or solitary, outdoor saunas and indoor saunas bring a sense of luxury and well being into the madness of the modern day.

Echoing the daily rituals of Finnish Life
Sauna is such an important part of Finish culture and everyday self care rituals. The timeless tradition of sauna is so popular in Finland that there is a staggering 3 Million saunas in Finland, with a population of 5.4 Million.
